MEDIA RELEASE 01/10/2023 ALBIE AMANKONA WINS THE ‘COUNCIL MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2023’.
We are delighted to announce that Albie Amankona has won the LGBT+ Conservatives ‘ Council Member of the Year 2023’.
During the LGBT+ Conservatives Pride reception at Conservative Party Conference 2023, held in Manchester, the GB News Host, broadcaster and Vice-Chair for Outreach at the LGBT+ Conservatives was handed the award earlier this evening by Conservative MP Dehenna Davison.
The ‘Council Member of the Year’ award has become an annual Party Conference tradition with members of the LGBT+ Conservatives’ council voting for the colleague that they think has gone above and beyond in their role on the council. Albie won the award after winning the most votes in a ballot amongst the council.
In a statement to be sent to members later today, Chairman of the LGBT+ Conservatives Luke Robert Black congratulated the Vice-Chair for Outreach on his award: "I am delighted to see Albie Amankona win this award. When running to be the Chairman, recruiting Albie was the first thing I wanted to do. I knew that he would bring with him energy, ideas, dynamism, professionalism, and industry experience in abundance. He’s delivered on all of these fronts and supports what we do with the tenacity that organisations such as these require. Albie has helped us to professionalise, operate with the media, construct a strong message and been a face of the organisation. He has also helped us to find a Conservative voice in the LGBT+ community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all that he has done and hope that he continues to give up his time for us and the party going forward”.
