LGBT activists Peter Booth & Kelvin Poplett are seeking to be the first civil partners elected as councillors in the May elections.
Peter & Kelvin are fighting the East Brighton ward on Brighton & Hove City council - and Kelvin says 'we are fighting to win'. Peter was recently elected as Chairman of Brighton Kemp Town Conservatives.
Brighton Kemp Town has a large gay and lesbian population and the East Brighton ward covers about half of Kemp Town. Kemp Town is represented by Simon Kirby MP of whom Peter says 'Simon Kirby has proved himself to be a true friend of our community and is Vice-Chairman of the all-party HIV and AIDS working group'.
