Another successful Pride season for LGBT+ Conservatives
Portsmouth Pride with Portsmouth Conservatives and the RT Hon Penny Mordaunt MP for Portsmouth North, International Development Secretary and Minister for Women Equalities brought this year’s LGBT+ Conservatives very successful Pride season to a close.
This year we attended: London, Canterbury, York University, Croydon, Glasgow, Worthing, Southend, Newcastle (Northern Pride), Isle of Wight, Norwich, Weston-Super-Mare, Leeds, Manchester, Bideford, Cardiff, Reading, Chester and Portsmouth!
Supported by: Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt MP, Rt Hon David Mundell MP, Rt Hon Justine Greening MP, Ross Thomson MSP, Tim Loughton MP, James Duddridge MP, Annie Wells MSP, Bob Seely MP, Chloe Smith MP, Stuart Andrew MP and Jack Bereton MP.
We had record numbers of LGBT+ Conservatives in attendance at Manchester Pride and Pride in London where the RT Hon Penny Mordaunt MP and Minister for Women & Equalities officially opened the parade.
Furthermore, we were pleased to see lots of Young Conservatives from across the UK joining us in the march for LGBT+ equality.
We had a presence at some firm favourites, attended by some incredibly supportive Associations and some brand new ones for us and we want to take this opportunity thank each and every one of those Associations for their support.
A special shout out goes to Canterbury Conservatives who sponsored Canterbury Pride this year. In a typically left-wing world of Prides, it was refreshing to see the local Conservatives at the forefront of their local Pride event.
Of course, I lied when I said at the beginning of this that Portsmouth Pride closed our Pride season because in reality our season is never really over until Conservative Pride at Party Conference – THE party of Party Conference! If you’re going to be at Conference we can’t wait to see you on the dance floor.
Our presence at these Pride events demonstrated that it’s the Conservatives who are the true Party of equality! Happy Pride and here’s to an even bigger and better LGBT+ Conservatives Pride season in 2019.
